A short introduction of the Ipolymente- Börzsöny Natúrpark Association

A short introduction of the Ipolymente- Börzsöny Natúrpark Association Our association was founded in February 2003 with the participation of local governments, enterprises, civil organisations and private individuals. Our organisation is operating with seventy members at the moment, most of all in villages situated in the western and southern parts of the Börzsöny Mountains from Verıce to Bernecebaráti. The programmes of our association include:  

  • Co-operating with other organisations in elaborating, collating and realising the plans

of developing the Ipolymente- Börzsöny Natúrpark and its facilities.  

  • Adjusted development of the tourism and the natural and built environment of the

villages in the area.  

  • Trainings in the nature within the area of the Natúrpark on the realisation of

environment protection in practice.  

  • Within the compass of international collaboration, helping found a natúrpark on the

other side of the border, in Slovakia, adjusting its development and operation and in the long run the fusion of the two parks. Our most important achievements in the last few years:  

  • We have organised courses on rural tourism in the Szob- area for its socially

disadvantaged inhabitants.  

  • We have estimated the values of the villages in the area of the Natúrpark and made an

inventory.  

  • We have set up and are currently running the webpage of our organisation

(www.ipolymente-borzsony.hu).  

  • We have liaised other national Natúrpark associations and developed our relationship

with them.  

  • We have organised study trips for the members of our association (to Írottkı

Natúrpark and Göcsej).  

  • We have made international liaisons, primarily with the Honti Borút Natúrpark

Association.  

  • We have given an expert opinion on the conceptions concerning the area in question.

Our currently running and planned activities:  

  • Collecting information about the tourism of the area and helping to make it possible

for everybody to gain access to these pieces of information.  

  • Opening an information centre.

 

  • Organising the ecotourism of the area, uniting and activating those who are interested

in it.  

  • Supporting the liaisons among the participants of tourism.

 

  • Building a show room with many facilities, which would be attached to the

information centre.  

  • Building an eco reception and developing the tourism of the area so that it would be a

sample project.  

  • Professional advising in developing tourism facilities.

 

  • Helping to gain access to the unexploited touristic conditions.

 

  • Organising functions and giving professional advice in connection with them (eg open

days, mini expos).  

  • Developing the aspect of PR program for eco tourism of the area and communicating

it through proper channels.  

  • Participating in touristic exhibitions

 

  • Distributing publications and newsletters

 

  • Organising trainings for members of the local governments and enterprises.

 

  • Distributing and making the perspective of eco tourism more popular.
